Thanksgiving Day Thoughts

Well, once again Thanksgiving has come and gone. All the festivities, mass quantities of turkey, dressing, ham and other tasty amenities as well as the after dinner naps from eating too much that take place during the football games. I decided to stay home this year and celebrate by myself and rest. I cooked the 14lb turkey that my employer generously gave us this year along with dresssing, rice, gravy, early peas, sweet corn, candied yams, rolls and sweet tea with homemade cheesecake that I recieved from my VP's mom. It was a very interesting and relaxing time. I woke up early Thursday morning and placed the turkey in the oven and preceded to play World of Warcraft while it was cooking. Finally the time arrived to take it out and I realized that it had not reached that golden brown color that most turekys get when done. Oh, what to do now. After comtemplating for several minutes and scratching my head as to what I did wrong. I decided to pick up the phone and give the greatest chef I know a call, my dad. Okay, dad, I cooked a turkey and for some reason it's not brown, what did I do wrong. After having to listening to a very deliberate laugh, he explained that I needed to remove the foil and turn the oven on broil. After doing this, I reached that golden brown texture that I was looking for. Then with much delight I finished making all of the side dishes and sat down to stuff my little grumbling stomach as I watched The Incredible Hulk on my Xbox 360. After eating and taking several naps during the movie I then decided to get up and about and cleaned up my monstronsity of a mess I made while cooking and preceded to play some more World of Warcraft. Well I hope everyone had a very wonderful and safe Thanksgivng Holidays and that all of your families are doing well and safely return home. Until next time.

Remember The Reservoir Dogs!!!!

Well I'm torn about posting this!!! I don't know whether I'm happy or sad that the season is over. We finally concluded our touch football season this past Saturday, by losing to the number 1 seed in the tournament 18-0. We gave a great effort but were unable to pull off the upset. It was a very harsh 34 degree's that morning also. I gave every effort to get everyone hype and ready to play on the frozen tundra but to no avail. By the 3rd series by fingers were completely numb and had a hard time gripping the ball and eventually gave way to Rob N. to quarterback since he had gloves. I did however accomplish not throwing an interception this week which is a first for me. Being banged up all season, I was never ever able to get into any type of groove throwing wise and definitely not running. The fear of injuring myself was always in the back of my mind. But anyway, it was a fun season. Rob N. threw a party for the team at his home and we all looked back on the season and laughed and had a good time. Everyone is looking forward to next year with plans of being better prepared and ready to go. Plus we ended on a good note, we showed up for every game never forfeiting one and each and everyone of us gave his all. Goood times indeed!!!!!
